After a hearty breakfast, we depart for Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan, famously known as the “Pink City” for its rose-hued old city walls. Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Jaipur is a captivating blend of royal heritage, grand architecture, and rich cultural traditions. Upon arrival, we check into our hotel for a two-night stay, unwind, and enjoy a freshly prepared vegan lunch. In the late afternoon, we visit the breath-taking Amber Fort, an impressive 16th-century hilltop fortress overlooking Maota Lake, known for its blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture, intricate frescoes, and mirror-studded halls that echo stories of royal life and valor. Returning to our hotel in the evening, we’ll enjoy a lively folk dance performance showcasing the spirit of Rajasthan, followed by drinks and a vegan dinner under the stars. The following morning, after breakfast, we begin our full-day exploration with a stop at the elegant Birla Temple, carved from white marble and dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. We then visit Animal Aid Unlimited’s Help in Suffering, a compassionate rescue and rehabilitation center, to learn about their important work and offer support. Lunch takes us to one of Jaipur’s well-loved vegetarian spots for a flavourful Indo-Chinese vegan meal. In the afternoon, we explore two of Jaipur’s most iconic landmarks — the Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO-listed observatory featuring enormous astronomical instruments, and the opulent City Palace, home to royal artifacts, exquisite courtyards, and centuries of regal history. In the evening, we return to the hotel to freshen up before heading out for a heart-warming vegan cooking class, where a friendly local family welcomes us into their home to share stories, traditional recipes, and a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal.
